Artist Statement
I am a photography student at Conval High School. I aim for my photos to reflect the natural beauty we see everyday and often take for granted. I feel that what is taken for granted in our daily life when viewed close up or in small compositions, becomes extraordinary. We are surrounded by color, shape and texture that gets overlooked in our busy lives. I try to capture these details to create frozen moments. It is then that I can say “look, I walk by this every day, isn't it gorgeous”.
I enjoy seeing how color can be used as a tool by nature and by the artist to invoke emotion and add detail to a story. I like to find contrasting components and show how they exist side-by-side. Each time I go out with my camera, It's not because I have a subject in mind but rather just in case I have the opportunity to capture an extraordinary moment.
